Bowsprit for a SO40

A neat addition installed on On Y Va


Here are photos of the gennaker bow sprit I just installed on my SO40 "On y va". I didn´t want a Selden system that goes over the anchor locker, as I want it like a semi permanent fixture as I intend to go for long journeys. The photos above are the actual unit, pre-installation, with the fixing plate with the cut out for where the port bow roller is. In the central photo above, you can see that the fixing plate is offset from the middle. This is so the sprit is as central as possible, but one can still use the bow roller is still free and usuable for lines. On the central photo below you can really see why I had the fixing plate offset.
