COMPANIONWAY STEPS SUPPORT CORD
During a haulout, I had some work done on the engine. When the technician pulled the step away from bulkhead, he remarked on how insecure the rope line might be in rough weather if I had to service the engine and suggested a stainless steel cable instead of the rope.
Since I've always had nowhere to step when the cover is off when I need to go topside, I bolted an anodized aluminum “U” channel extrusion I had, installed two SS eyebolts and replaced the rope with SS cable & fittings.
